The Healing Journey of A Survivor
The picture above truly represents a child who has lived through a world of sorrow and pain. She may look as though she is at peace, but yet you must know this little girl still fights a battle inside of her everyday. She was the child of innocence who had that taken away and now as the adult I work to somehow give her a sense that she is loved in a very special way. They may have taken her innocence but they did not rob her spirituality that her grandmother had taught her about in her young life as a child of God.
As I walk on this journey I will share some steps that have helped me to heal. Sometimes you will read painful pieces of what my life once was. Just remember one thing that each time we take a tiny step we are one step closer to healing. I even have to remind myself of this because some days tend to be overwhelming to me too!
Starvation,hunger,poverty-stricken world.
Are all world problems out of our hands.
We should all come together treat this problem as one.
Put these things faraway from one.
We throw away food, money and such.
With extra to give and other lives to touch.
We turn our backs to these ugly scenes.
And tend to our problems we think of supreme.
But put yourself in another's place,
With not much to eat how little you's waste.
With every scrap and crumb held dear
There are no leftovers no tables to clean.
We close our eyes to this situations,
And think of this small population.
But everyday hunger and numbers grow,
With nothing to eat, death slowly comes.
There are ways that we can help this mess.
And go to the need of those in distress.
Just look and seek and you shall find,
What you have benn missing, how terribly blind.
